Highlights

The Archaeological Areas of Pompeii and Herculaneum constitute the only site in the world that offers a complete vision of ancient Roman civilization. In particular, the ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, with their renowned structures such as the Villa of the Mysteries and the Villa of the Papyri, are an integral part of this extraordinary heritage. The excavations at Pompeii, which cover an area of 44 hectares, vividly delineate the urban neighborhoods of the time, with their sumptuous residences, the main forum surrounded by majestic buildings including the Capitolium, the Basilica, and various temples, along with public bath complexes, theaters, and an amphitheater.

Despite much of the ancient city lying still buried beneath the modern settlement, the excavations at Herculaneum have revealed extraordinarily well-preserved artifacts, explored through a network of tunnels dating back to the 18th century. These sites constitute an authentic open-air museum, where commercial and residential buildings seem to have been frozen in time, offering a fascinating glimpse into a distant era.

After the archaeological visit, we will venture onto the slopes of Mount Vesuvius to admire the spectacular panorama that unfolds from the summit. From there, you can observe in one sweeping glance the entire Bay of Naples.
